In November 2018, the MetroWest Regional Transit Authority (MWRTA) installed a 228 kW solar canopy at its transportation hub in Framingham, MA. The solar canopy is made up of 493 SunPower solar panels and three Delta inverters. The system is expected to produce about 282,600 kWh of solar electricity each year for the MWRTA. Dagle Electrical Construction Corp. (DEC), an electrical contractor based in Wilmington, MA, was awarded the project and subcontracted the electrical, mechanical and interconnection design and engineering work to Zapotec. Zapotec will continue to monitor the system’s energy production and provide ongoing operations and maintenance services.
