Zapotec welcomes the spring season by completing two more rooftop solar energy systems at Longview Place Apartments in Waltham, MA. Through another contract with Equity Residential, a real estate and building management company headquartered in Chicago, IL, Zapotec’s team of engineers finished a 73.5 kW system at 60 Hope Avenue and an 80.6 kW system at 70-80 Hope Avenue.

Although each rooftop hosts its own array of solar panels, the PV systems at 70-80 Hope Avenue are electrically combined before feeding into the buildings’ switchgear. Altogether, the PV systems at Longview Place are expected to produce 197,400 kWh of electricity each year. The systems will offset about 92.2 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually. This amount of carbon dioxide offset is equivalent to the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere while driving a car round trip from Longview Place to San Francisco 33 times.

Zapotec’s engineers were joined by Invaleon Technologies Corp, the electrical subcontractor for the project, and Tecta America, a commercial roofing company, to complete the installations of both solar energy systems. In total, the systems are made up of 474 (325 W) Hanwha Q-Cell PV modules, five SolarEdge inverters, and a customized roof-mounted racking system from SunModo Corp.
