Summer 2015 MassCEC InternsCategory: Company News
Zapotec Energy is happy to introduce our two interns for summer 2015. Mrinmayee Kale and Melissa Drury are joining us through the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) Internship program. This program partners young professionals with clean energy companies across the state, with hopes of preparing them for a career in this quickly-growing industry.
Since the installation of the internship program in 2011, Zapotec has hosted 4 other MassCEC interns. This summer, Mrinmayee and Melissa will be helping us with the design and specifications of our current solar projects, as well as getting out in the field accessing feasibility of future projects.
Mrinmayee Kale is a graduate student at Northeastern University pursuing her Masters degree in Energy Systems. Originally from Pune, India, Mrinmayee is at Zapotec this summer helping the project managers with AutoCAD designs for clients in the Boston area. In the future she would like to be a design engineer in the solar industry. Through this internship she hopes to gain knowledge and experience about the industry.
Melissa Drury is a senior Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Notre Dame. This summer she will be helping with several solar projects Zapotec has in the Boston area as well learning the steps involved with getting a clean energy start-up off the ground. Originally from Leominster, Massachusetts, Melissa hopes to return to New England and work with renewable energy after graduation next year. This summer she hopes to network and gain experience in solar, while learning more about industry software and business practices.
