In 2009, as part of the Massachusetts Recovery Plan and the Massachusetts Solar Stimulus, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) began investigating opportunities for solar PV power generation on its properties. To facilitate design and construction initiatives, the MWRA selected Zapotec Energy to act as the primary construction manager and solar consultant supporting MWRA’s implementation of the project. Zapotec Energy performed design reviews, scheduling, documentation, and construction supervision. The first project involved the development of a 496 kW solar PV system at the Carroll Water Treatment Plant in Marlborough, MA.
